Well done everyone, what a great week for Vegan Runners. This week we represented our club at 384 out of 2,300 parkrun venues. That’s nearly 17% representation of VRs at all parkruns in the whole world, promoting our club and its values with positivity and pride. Vegan Runners at parkrun in my view is the healthiest, most effective and least confrontational form of vegan activism. As I walked home from solo repping at my “nendy” parkrun last Saturday, one of the runners still completing the course yelled me a cheery, “Well done!”, to which I replied, “Plant Power! Thank you, well done to you, too!”. The exchange made me smile, which in turn made the next ten runners smile, too. If we can rock our VR tops at parkruns and include a friendly smile I reckon we’ll inspire at least 10% more people to investigate veganism than if we don’t smile. Just a theory but backed up by plenty of research. Try it out next week!
